5 Things You Can Do to Help Artists

Whether they be writer, musicians, or crafters, here are the top 5 things you can do to help them out!

1. Sign Up For Their Email List/Newsletter

Subscribing is the #1 most helpful thing you can do for any artist or writer. Email is the best way to tell people about events, sales, and life updates! Head over to their website and hit that Newsletter tab ASAP, you won’t regret it.

2. Buy Directly From Them

Not every creative has their own store, but if they do, buying directly from them not only supports them more than buying through another company, but they often have better deals. Author S.D. Smith’s prices from his store are significantly lower than if you buy through a larger company. Since the carriers take a percentage off the sales of the item, the sales are often better directly from the creator, and they get more money from the sale. Signing up for their newsletter is a great way to get informed about these sales and they often include promo codes as well.

3. RATE & REVIEW

Imagine this: You’re scrolling through Amazon, Scribd, or wherever you get your books and see a book that looks interesting but has no ratings or reviews. How likely are you to start reading that book? Unless someone you know recommended it to you, the likelihood is probably lower than if it had many ratings and reviews. This is why rating everything you read is so important, especially if it’s digital. And, if you have time, leave a review as well! This is the best thing you can do for authors and singers too! There is a small window after the release of a book or song for it to reach the top charts of the NYT Bestsellers list, SO GO CLICK THOSE STARS!!

4. Send Them an Appericiation Note

Whether it’s an email or a physical letter, sending your favorite artist or author a note about how their work has helped or inspired you is super encouraging to them!

5. Pray for Them

Prayer is a powerful tool! Keeping your favorite artist in your prayers is the absolute best thing you can do for them.

Until Next Time,

-Lori
